PUTRAJAYA: Scratch-and-win contests, normally used by direct selling companies to deceive consumers into buying their goods, have been banned with immediate effect.

Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Shafie Apdal, in announcing this today, said the trade gimmick, which has spread to the rural areas, was banned because it was harmful to consumers, many of whom had been deceived into buying substandard goods.

Speaking to reporters after attending the ministry’s monthly assembly here today, he said a total of 6,903 complaint cases were filed with the Consumer Claims Tribunal in the first 10 months of this year.

The highest number of 1,393 cases were related to scratch-and-win contests, followed by 529 cases which involved vehicle purchases.

One of the scam’s victims Satilah Mahmood, who lost RM27,000 this year, welcomed the move.

“My family is now saddled with debts. It is not that I can get back my money, but at least other people will not fall victim to such scams anymore,” said the 42-year-old civil servant from Johor Baru.

The syndicate had called Satilah’s home in February telling her that she was in the running to win home theatre systems, massage chairs and even cars.

Her family deposited money in instalments to the company, and they received the home theatre system and a massage chair. Both broke down within weeks of delivery.

She never saw her money again, nor the people who took her money as they had moved out of their rented office lot.

As much as this is good news, I’m still wary of Welley Corporation’s criminal activities. I’m very sure that they will use other other tactics to get pass the law. They are known to be a group of scheming, conniving and lying thieves.

I’m hoping that the authorities will just proceed and shut this organisation down for good and put the criminals behind this scam group behind bars for a very long time.

And until Welley Corporation is dead and buried, rest assured that Welley Corporation Watch will always be around exposing these criminals.

Do not be fooled by the name change, this company are still run by the same bastards behind Welley Corporation Sdn Bhd, the parent company.

Therefore, their products, modus-operandi and tactics will remain the same. It’s the same scam just under a new name. Please warn your friends and family members about these scammers.

When I was scammed by a Welley Corporation subsidiary Wijaya Marketing, I was unfortunate enough to be using a Hong Leong credit card. When I discovered I was scammed, Hong Leong Bank refused to co-operate, and choose to side with criminals rather than customers.

Therefore, I would like to advise everyone to boycott Hong Leong Credit Cards, because they prefer to side with criminals rather than customers.

All the names listed above are known Welley Corporation scam subsidiaries. The last (bolded) one is the odd one out. After searching the internet, I strongly believe that Bonanza Marketing Sdn Bhd is an unused scam subsidiary.

So I advise everyone to watch out for this company; Bonanza Marketing Sdn Bhd (Co. Reg.: 659595-A). They may be the next proxy company to be used by Welley Corporation for their scratch-and-win scams.

Saya ingin mengingatkan anda agar tidak mempercayai temberang mereka ini! Sudah pasti mereka akan “menjual semula” barangan murahan China mereka, tetapi sebagai “hadiah” untuk mangsa-mangsa seterusnya. Anda kemudiannya tidak akan mendapat walau sesen pun dari hasil jualan ini.

Ini hanyalah salah satu cara bagaimana Welley Corporation menipu mangsa-mangsa mereka secara berturutan:

1. Menawarkan kupon cabutan bertuah (gores dan menang)
2. Mangsa akan memenangi produk mereka
3. Menawarkan kupon cabutan bertuah pusingan kedua
4. Mangsa akan sekali lagi memenangi produk-produk bodoh Welley Corporation
5. Penyangak Welley Corporation akan menawarkan untuk menjual semula produk-produk tak berguna mereka

Akhirnya, anda bukan sahaja kehilangan wang ringgit kepada taktik penipuan mereka… malah lebih ramai mangsa-mangsa akan “memenangi” produk-produk yang kononnya merupakan “hadiah” anda.

Nasihat saya ialah untuk mengambil sahaja produk-produk bodoh Welley Corporation itu, buat laporan polis dan kemudiannya memfailkan tuntutan ke Tribunal. Do not believe this nonsense! They will of course “re-sell” their cheap Chinese imports, but as prizes to the next victim. You will never see a single cent from the proceeds.

This is yet another way how they scam their victims multiple times over:

1. Offer lucky draw (scratch and win) coupons
2. Victim will win their product
3. Offer a second round coupon
4. Victim will again win more stupid Welley Corporation products
5. Will offer to re-sell the useless Welley Corporation products

At the end of the day, you will lose not only your money to their scams… more victims will then be sold the “prizes” you so-called won.

My advise is to take the stupid Welley Corporation items, lodge a police report and Tribunal case. Then, wait for your hearing, which you’ll win anyway because KPDNHEP already knows about these scammers (but why they never take the initiative to bring these bastards down is a mystery).

However, do not use any of those products! Just keep them “as is”.

They have this advertisement in a Chinese newspaper stating that they want to hire sales person for thier company.

I even went to this address myself just to make sure and yes they are there.

There are 4 shop house (2 storey) all under this Welley Marketing and the number is a working number i already called them on the pretext of asking for a job.
