Preying On Greed or Greedy Predator?

I’ve noticed that there are a lot of posts on Consumer.com.my stating that many victims of Wijaya Marketing (and Welley Corporation and all its shadow scamming subsidiaries in general) fell victim to these scammers because of greed.

I categorically refuse to believe this simplistic view. The reason being, Wijaya Marketing is not operating a legitimate promotional activity or any form of legitimate business at all! They scam their victims into getting into a transaction that they otherwise would not make. 100% of Wijaya Marketing’s victims are merely following the basic human behaviour of making the most out of an opportunity.

Imagine, if you were convinced (more like conned when it comes to Wijaya Marketing and Welley Corporation) that you stand more than 90% chance of winning something valuable, it’d be foolish not to grab the opportunity.

The fact of the matter is, Wijaya Marketing and Welley Corporation are the greedy predators! They choose to deceive instead of operating a legitimate business. Do you think that they can even sell a single item from the cheap Chinese imports they have in their inventory using legitimate means? I think not.

They thrive on deceiving as many people as possible into entering an illegitimate transaction of buying their useless products. Welley Corporation reeks of deception once you find out more about the company:

  • They claim to operate a “factory” when all they have in fact is just a warehouse in Penang
  • They con not only their “customers” but also their employees
  • Often recruits teenagers of barely legal working age because they are easy to manipulate
  • There are reports that they allegedly use IC photocopies of their staff and/or potential candidates to form more scamming “subsidiaries” of Welley Corporation

And you still think that Wijaya Marketing and Welley Corporation victims are the greedy ones? If you do, you’re obviously in awe of the criminal mindset behind the operations of these scamming companies.

Yes, I dont think that it is the victim that is greedy in most cases. I hv experienced this a few mths ago, altho I am not sure if it was by this co. or not. I was approached by a young girl at the car park adjcent to Sunway Pyramid. She was very complimentary (she told me I looked very young) and had an infectious spirit. Luckily for me my Chinese is not very good, so I cd only understand half of what she was saying! Basically after I scratched the coupon, she got very excited, saying I had won a car, and that my coupon was a very rare one, and that I had just helped her earn a company trip! She went on to say that if I could make it to her company headquarters I cud discuss the prize and she hoped I wud not be shy as the media would be there to snap my picture! A small part of me did believe her and I even thot I shd try to make the trip to her office, but there was also something in me that said “this could be a scam”. And later I read about these sorts of scams, and thot, how well that girl had acted, and that she probably even lied bout me looking young! Well, at least I had not lost any money to them!
